Usage Instructions
How to Brew Your Worm Tea (1-Gallon Kit)
Step 1: Prepare Your Water
Fill the provided 1-gallon container with dechlorinated water. If you have chlorinated water, leave the bucket outside without a lid for 24-48 hours to allow the chlorine to evaporate naturally.
Step 2: Add Molasses
Stir in the provided unsulfured molasses. This feeds the beneficial microorganisms and helps them multiply rapidly during the brewing process.
Step 3: Add Castings and Frass
Hang the provided cheesecloth (1 cup) filled with castings and insect frass under the lid using the hook. This keeps the solids contained while allowing the microbes to infuse into the water.
Step 4: Start Aeration
Plug in the aerator and leave the lid slightly cracked for air exchange. Aeration is critical for creating an oxygen-rich environment that beneficial microbes thrive in.
Step 5: Brew
Wait 24-48 hours for as many living microbes as possible to inhabit the tea and make it optimal. You'll notice the water turning darker brown as microbes multiply.
Step 6: Dilute and Apply
- For Soil Feeding: Dilute 1 part worm tea concentrate with 10 parts dechlorinated water
- For Foliar Spray: Dilute 1 part worm tea concentrate with 20 parts dechlorinated water
Step 7: Watch Your Plants Thrive!
Be amazed with how much your plants love worm tea! Apply to your garden and watch the results.
Pro Tips
- Use filtered or dechlorinated water - chlorine kills beneficial microbes
- Don't skip the molasses - it's essential for microbe multiplication
- Keep the aerator running throughout the entire brewing period
- Use the tea within 24 hours of completion for maximum benefit
- The cheesecloth makes cleanup easy - just remove and compost the solids
